The Court of Justice of the European Union’s (CJEU) decision in the related cases C-37/20 and C-601/20 on 22nd November 2022, prompted the Registrar of Companies to make the following announcement on 28th November 2022, which states that access to the Register of Beneficial Owners will no longer be open to the public as of 23rd November 2022.

The decision, according to the Registrar, has no effect on a company’s or partnership’s obligation to submit and update Beneficial Owner information therefore, that obligation is upheld.
